2003 Kaw 636 Trackday/Racebike $4500 in NY

Bike is in Buffalo, NY.

I bought the bike in July 2003 with 1590 miles and have since put 1600 on it for a total of 3200 miles. I have the clear title for the bike but never bothered to register it b/c I never rode on public roads.

Very close to a race bike but never raced. I used it for trackdays only. Oil changed every other trackday with synthetic oil.

This bike has never missed a beat and has served me very well - no mechanical or electrical problems ever and might have missed one shift over 4 seasons. I'm selling it because I'm retiring from riding at the tender age of 53 after crushing a bone in my right hand over Labor Day (flirtation with Supermoto. . . ) and still not recovering. (I'm now looking at sports cars. . . ) Oh, forgot that the first PowerComander that I had on it died, hence I bought the new one which I haven't bother to mount up yet. But that is the only issue I ever had with the bike, IIRC.

Tons of spares; levers (new), fairing brackets (as new) front calipers, master cylinder, clutch perch etc., spare tank.

I have almost all the street stuff too including fairings (front fairing has a small scrape/crack that was covered by a small sticker when I got it) and t-sigs.

This bike has been very good to me and was always fast and a blast to ride. Dyno showed 108 HP with the original PC on pump gas. Fine tuning will probably get you more but it is great fun the way it is.

The only bad about the bike is that I fell on the left side at Cayuga in 2006 and dented the tank and damaged the race glass. The race glass was repaired but the tank.. . it has a good sized dent on the side (see last photo)

I really hope you gave that check a week to clear through the bank. There have been a LOT of scams going around on craigslist. Some guy, who was also from Nigeria, tried to scam me out of my xbox360 by sending me a bogus paypal email. He said his name was Burrows Micheal and he wanted me to send the xbox to someone named Agbo Odinakachukwu J. Apparently people from outside the country have been making counterfeit money orders and cashier's checks, and the bank with cash them at first, but then after about a weak they find out the other bank doesn't exist, and then they charge YOU for it! So for your sake, i hope he was legit, but i really doubt it.

The thing is they use REAL routing numbers and real account numbers but the check clears and then it is found to be fraud. You loose the money from your account, your item, and then you have to repay the money you sent him even!

I can't believe that Joe Mugambe would pull a scam. First, he seems like a very nice guy. Very polite and totally understood the minor delay in sending him his refund. Second, he had a very high eBay rating. Third, he told me he is a racer and I really doubt one racer would scam another. Fourth, my bank accepted his bank's cashiers check so it must be legit.

I have seen scams on ebay with high ebay ratings. I was shopping for a unique item, not like an iphone. I forget exactly what it was. But, I was shopping for this item and would see the same exact item under a new ebay account every week. I would report the account as a scam account, and the account would be removed. But, a couple days later the same item under a new account name with quite high rating or 80+.

This scam is like one of the most common and well known scam's on the Internet. Don't EVER sell something to someone in Nigeria. If you do, confirm with the bank that the check cleared, and get a managers name, number and written confirmation that the check cleared.

This scam is like one of the most common and well known scam's on the Internet. Don't EVER sell something to someone in Nigeria. If you do, confirm with the bank that the check cleared, and get a managers name, number and written confirmation that the check cleared.

The damn nigerians do this ALL THE TIME. Notice how Mr. Joe whatever hasn't responded to any of the people calling this a scam?

Close your account, contact the bank and all three credit reporting agencies AND HAVE THEM RED FLAG YOUR CREDIT. File a police report with your local police department. There's nothing the police can do, but the credit reporting agencies and the bank will probably want a police report number. You have just become a victim of identity theft and are now a statistic. If you don't believe me, I'm a police officer and was a detective for 3 years. I worked fraud crimes. So at least now take my advice and do what I told you to do.

"Joe Mugambe" is probably not his real name and he is a thief. He scammed me for my bike (also a 636) and several thousand dollars that I was stupid enough to be scammed out of. Plus, after giving him my checking account numbers so he could send me a "refund" I have another $3 grand missing due to a mysterious withdrawal that I did not make.
