View Full Version : 2006 Ktm 560 Smr

I bought this bike 12 months ago and rode it at two short track days (alternately using my 636), a couple of practices at the local supermoto track and exactly one WERA round (Beaverun last Labor Day). I might have six hours on it and I've already changed the oil and filters several times.

$5500. I probably have close to $9000 into it.

Lots of good stuff and a good deal, but I did famously get tossed down the road at Beaverun and it has scrapes and marks on it. However, it has always handled great, stopped great and stayed with Aprilla twins on the back straight at the Beave. I love the bike but I've had to retire due to injuries and a passing moment of lucidity.

And with the 10 mm of off-set I currently have dialed in in steers like a real race bike.

The bike has always started easy and is just a blast to ride. I've never had a single problem with it.

It is thoroughly set up for roadracing and has the following gear:

KTM Slipper clutch
KTM Slipper clutch right engine side cover with quick access cover for the slipper
Scott's/Ohlins steering damper
Red Baron adjustable fork clamps combined with E-Axle off-set front axle (adjustment range down to 9 mm off-set - now set at 10 mm)
JD jet kit
Carbonfiber belly pan
One of those vent line collector thingies for the carb vent hoses
The good Dunlop slicks front and rear - new before the Beaver race.
Brand new Dunlop rear rain
Front Dunlop rain with about 3 laps on it - nubs still show
Tyr-Sox tire warmers - very good condition
KTM Handguards

New spares include:
Brake reservoir
Spark Plug
Two unused rear sprockets
EBC front brake pads
2 front tubes
1 rear tube
4 quarts of Motul
Shift lever
Gaskets

I also have the stock clutch and cover.
And I'm sure there's other stuff I can't think of.

Do you have a title or mso for it? If it's titled can it be tagged or is it marked "off road"?

I'll check as soon as I get home on what the MSO says. I never titled it.

Yes, but only if a potential purchaser wants to chisle me down on price beyond my breaking point. :D

PS: If that happens I'd sell the slipper with the special clutch cover as a package.

I'll speak to some of the guys around here who race WERA and the other orgs who may be headed in your direction.

In response to an e-mail I got asking about the bike:

Its a six speed.

It is race ready the way it is, except maybe for some safety wire and a tire pressure adjustment. (It is already been drilled for all required WERA safety wire, btw.)
