We have been selling CZ wheels for a while now and can offer a very competitive price on these wheels. I recently got a set for my 07 600RR which already had pretty light OEM wheels on it (the lightest honda has ever made) and I still saved 2.2lbs on the rear and 13oz on the front with the actual measurements.

I also weighed the wheels with the cush drive, bearings, spacers and rear disc carrier.

5.5 rear CZ wheel weighed 13.2 lbs
front CZ wheel weighed 7.7 lbs

I'm sure some guys I've already sold to on here can chime in with their reviews and pics of the wheels.

Here are some pics that I have.

Powder Coat colors are no longer available!

Anodized only. Anodized colors include gold, wine red, blue, satin black and new anodized silver.

It's a bummer about the PC colors. I guess it was too much trouble for them.

Just FYI. Carrozzeria announced a price increase today for these wheels. After December 1st, they are going to be $50 more a set. If you've been putting off buying, now is the time.

Also coming is a new type of wheel, the TRI-R. These wheels will be as light as magnesium, but made from a new process with forged Al. The are reported to be as strong as the normal forged Al wheel. They have 3 Y spokes and will be available for the Honda's first. Price is approximately $100 more than the Vstars.

I put a set of the CARROZZERIA VSTAR wheels on my Ducati Sport Classic and its like a whole new bike. It took it from being an all show no go bike to a credible track bike. I was so inspired by the wheels I grafted on a set of 2006 Gsxr 1000 Ohlins forks with radial brakes, Carrozzeria works rotors and an Ohlins rear shock. If I could find a class to run it in around here I would kill to race it. All it really needs is a slipper clutch. Last season I went out in track day with the fast guys and on our little bull ring I caused some fits!

Sweet looking Duc  I was also impressed by how much difference the wheels make when I switched over to them on my 600RR. I was skeptical at first but it was easily one of the best mods I've done.

The forged wheels are 13.5lbs lighter than stock VS the spoked OE wheels on the Ducati. BTW 13.5lbs of weight reduction is not typical because modern sportbikes have fairly good design. However even 1lb of weight reduction in un-sprung mass is equal to 8lbs of weight reduction on the main chassis according to the SAE.

Here is an explaination of why lighter better designed wheels make such a big improvement.
Weight.

Reducing un-sprung mass (Wheels, discs etc) has a far greater performance benefit than reducing sprung mass (bodywork, frame, etc). In racing, some designers use a factor of eight. For example, saving 1kg on a wheel weight gives the same performance gain as saving 8kg of sprung weight. This is due to the following benefits :

Braking/Acceleration

The force required to start a wheel rolling (moment of inertia) increases with the mass of the wheel. The same is true of the force required to stop a wheel, and so reducing the wheels weight, improves acceleration and braking efficiency. Since less energy is required to start and stop the bike, fuel efficiency also improves, but is not often noticed as the rider simply goes faster!.

Gyroscopic effect

Reducing the wheel mass, also reduces the gyroscopic effect of the wheel. When a wheel is spinning, it is very difficult to make it change direction, but the lower the mass of the wheel, the easier it is to flick from side to side. Try holding a front wheel at arms length via a spindle, spin it and then simulate diving in and out of a corner. The effort required is considerable, but it becomes significantly easier as the wheel mass reduces. Consequently, this has a major effect on the handling of a motorcycle.

Radius of Gyration

This is more a function of wheel design rather than pure weight reduction, but the two are inextricably linked. The mass of a wheel is deemed to act at a certain radius from the centre of the wheel (radius of gyration). In order to improve the performance of the wheel, the designer will try to reduce this radius, so that it acts as close to the wheel centre as possible.

To demonstrate this, try swinging a weight on a piece of string around your head. The shorter the string, the easier it is to swing. Hence reducing the radius of gyration, improves the manoeuvrability of the motorcycle. This is achieved by lightening the rim as this is on the extreme radius, and designing the spoke system with minimal weight at the extreme, whilst maintaining the required strength and stiffness.

Good stuff. 13.5 lbs on the stock Duc wheels,, wow :wow:

For reference, the 07 600RR OEM wheels are about the lightest OEM wheels out there, .5 lb lighter than the 06 600RR. On my 07, the Carrozzeria's were 2.2lbs lighter on the rear, and 13oz lighter on the front. The difference was very noticable even at very slow speeds.

Typical weight reduction is around 1-2 lbs for the front wheel, and 2-4 lbs for the rear wheel on most modern bikes.

The problem some people make when switching over to new wheels is putting some heavier rotors on that counter any savings. For example Galfer Wave rotors are 5 oz heavier each than stock OEM rotors on the 600. That would be 10 oz more on the front wheel. So you should factor that in when making a comparison.
