The weather is probably going to be nasty. :(

Then again it's probably good weather conditions to practice in, for the WERA opener in February, :D

You never know what the weather will be like. The weather was supposed to be bad for the Dec. weekend also, but it was mid 70's and clear

Yeah I think me and Jeff are gonna come down. Maybe a few other guys. Jeff and I ride the same bike so I think we are going to try to run some endurance races this year, at least we are hoping too. Plus I can use all the help I can get getting up to speed on the 750.

stickboy274
01-12-2008, 10:55 AM
I am, and I'll have a bunch of tires. I will have the softer fronts this time of year though. I don't think the track has a chance of being to warm for them.

49,27,45. Not good temp numbers that just came out. Do you drain the radiator and block? Will that be good enough to deal with the 27 low? Is there any way to keep it just warm enough like starting it every couple of hours? Maybe wrapping it in tire warmers?

Fuzzy317
01-13-2008, 09:50 PM
An enclosed trailer with space heater would be optimum. If you are going to drain, drain radiator and turn the engine over a couple times to be sure to get water out of pump. I am sure others will give better/more detailed info.

pucksdown
01-13-2008, 10:41 PM
flatbed with no heater. Will tire warmers around the engine and radiator help?

I just hate wrenching on a cold engine when my hands are already freezing.

ToddClark
01-13-2008, 10:52 PM
what ive seen done in the past is drape a tarp completely over the bike. If you have one of those 500 watt quartz lamps, remove the lower from the bike and place the lamp right in front of the headers. With the tarp over the bike and weighted down so it doesnt allow wind to blow under it, the heat from the 500 quartz lamp will keep the rad/waterpump from freezing.

stickboy274

I'm hoping that my lab will help train this little thing by example. He doesn't mess up anything in the house. Lets us know long before it's a problem that he needs to go out, and sleeps in his kennel with no complaints.

This is a replacement for a vengful cat we used to have. The dog will be better. Or I will cook it and eat it like I should have done to the cat.

That Scott was Newlin, just trackdays and runs the Rocket City Powersports in Madison, Al. now. The racer was James Stroud, known as Spud, a fairly fast expert racer that races for Moe's now with Chuck Ivey. He also has moved on to wrenching at Fayetteville Honda in Fayetteville, Tn. What does this have to do with staying warm? I am buying an enclose trailer now thanks to all this talk of freezing. Will have it there Friday evening.
