I just signed up for the Bargy School on Friday Feb 8th. I'm thinking about possibly racing that weekend. It would be my first race of course. How does that work being that it's the day after certification and all? Do you register with WERA ahead of time or just sign up that morning?

I'll be eligible for V6 lightweight and D superbike (FZR400) I believe.

In any case I'm looking forward to it. Anyone else signed up for the 8th?

After passing Ed's school, signup with WERA Saturday AM. Buy license, enter races, get bike teched by WERA, go play.

FYI: Ed will be the race director that weekend, and most of his instructors are tech officials. So you can probably get one of them to look over your bike to give heads-up on anything that needs done to pass WERA tech.

Sounds simple enough. The bike is at Marietta Motorsports now with the sole purpose of being made safe, reliable, and be made to pass WERA tech. But Opie wanted to make it all purty and get rid of the zip ties too.:D

Is there a set schedule of races that each event follows or does it depend on how many are signed up for each class? Would I know before the race weekend when D super and V6 would run or would that be decided once registration was completed?

Opie will do you right.

That weekend's schedule will be posted a few days before the event. You can look at schedules from last year to get an idea of the order of races. Unless there is no one registered for a class, they generally run the races as scheduled. Sean tends to switch the race columns each weekend so the same race is not always last/first.

Attached is schedule from Feb 10-11, 2007 event to give you an idea.

I'm thinking about going. Depends on whether or not there's snow on the ground.

Super nice folks. Huey posts on here a good amount. Opie made sure to know exactly what I wanted done with the bike and went over the whole thing with me. He also made sure he knew what the budget is and what my overall goal for the bike is (Safe, reliable as can be for 18 year old bike, and Terrance Tech proof).

I dropped my bike off last Thursday. They said they didn't have a backlog at the time but were expecting to get more bikes in during the next few weeks for prep.

See that's just it though about Tally in February. You might just have 70 degrees to play in or it could be blistering cold. IIRC last year when the construction was finishing up they had a race scheduled in February and the weather would have been nice that weekend. But the ground was too wet and still real muddy from all the construction. They were afraid they wouldn't be able to get rescue vehicles to people if they went off the track.

So they rescheduled the race weekend into March and it was cold as a welldigger's ass all weekend.

You just never know.

I think I missed the Tally in February where it's been 70 degrees. Everytime I'm there it's like freaking snowing and cold as a witches, well you know.

But I'll be there with my brother so if you see us out there shooting in the cold bring some hot chocolate!

Bestest FZR400 EVAR!!!!

Bill dynoed it after the compression and leak down looked like it needed a topend rebuild. 58hp and the compression and leak down came back in line. Not the most powerful fzr but good enough for the likes of me.

I'll miss the neon zip ties though. :D
