I just got a 600 and it has Dunlop 209 with the rear 190/55 now I know that, that bike comes with 180/55.
I have a set also of Michelin PR 180/55. Which one of these should I use because I heard that with the 180/55 the bike turns better.

I think it all depends on what your riding abilities are?

I would say save money by just buying 180's instead of 190's. Find a tire you like then go to a bike shop and get your supension set for you and that tire and start enjoying the sport:up: Welcome to the addiction

Run whatever fresh rubber you have:p
If you like the way your bike is feeling with the 190 (turn in, exiting turns, etc) then measure the circumference of that tire. When you mount the 180, measure that too. You might have to add a little ride height when running the 180.

180/55 and you might want to consider an agressive street (vs full race) compound. In a Michelin that would be a Pilot Power or Pilot Power 2CT in Pirelli Diablo or Diablo CorsaIII I believe I'm not sure about Stones or Dunlops version.
Welcome and enjoy your new hobby!!

Yeah these are great trackday tires:up: by the time your speed picks up you'll have found what tire and what size you like by then

I have got to a point that the pilot and 2ct is slidding on the track I use them for street.
What is the difference between the 190 and 180?

Aspect ratio. Typically a 190 yeilds a larger diameter wich equals a larger contact patch especially while leaned over cornering. However something that is larger in diameter (and weighs more in this case) will have more gyroscoipic effect and inertia, which to you means a 190 will be slower to speed up (accelerate) slower to tip in and slower to recover from lean... and take more effort to slow down BUT it will offer greater traction while leaned over due to more friction of the increased contact patch. You never get anything for free, you must give up something. Make sense?? I personally can't stand a 190 on a 600 but lots of guys do great with em, so it's a choice sort of thing.
You must be really super fast if you have exceeded the capabilities of the best street/track day tires available or riding at very high temps OR and this is likely the case.. not set up for the tires with suspension and/or pressures correctly. Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone and Dunlop all make "street/track day" rubber that rock.

Thx for the info the thing is that I bought a track bike a 600 that come with a 190/55 on the rear and I'm not sure if I should just leave a 190/55 or change to 180.

I think that is probably a huge part of it
if the bike was set up for dunlops by the previous owner you will have to change the suspension set up for michelin. if that sounds like something you dont want to do, stick with the dunlops and see how you like them.

I've got a 600. With my set-up the way it currently is I can run both the 190 D'lop 209gp and the 180 Mich-PR series with no issues!
I mostly run the 190 209gp's, but occasionally run the Mich's 180 PR5.
The D'lops last forever!!

what kind of times you doing at jennings now? yeah...each bike and set-up is different.
I'm still stuck at 24/25's. Have been since April, but haven't been riding much since then.
What's going on with you....how you been?
