cold track, no tire warmers, new bike, and a little rain......not my idea of good conditions to try out my new bike. but even though the weather sucked, i still got a chance to ride a little......anyone else out there this weekend??

I was there on Sat. Very cold, no rain but lots of bikes went down, mostly in the morning and most were low-speed low sides. I had warmers but the power source was not the greatest and for the most part I would take the first 7-8 minutes of the session and heat my tires up and run hard the rest of the seesion. I had the front and back break loose a few times but most of the time it was on the patches of sealer though out the track. It was my first time there and I liked the track...pretty technical back part of the track.

i only was able to ride for about 3 sessions, but i just needed enough time to check out the bike. i only saw one rider go down sunday, in turn one, but he appeared to be ok.

I was paid up and scheduled to be there Sat. and Sun. but since my @#$@ trailer was JACKED we didn't make it. Hope everyone came out ok. That track is worse than normal in the cold.

I was there on Saturday riding N - i was one of "those guys" and tucked the front in turn 1 at the end of the 4th session so anyone in the I group got a nice little show. But i picked it back up and rode the remaining sessions.
Fun track, but never really found a groove (guess that's why i'm still in N ;)) - would like to get another crack at that track in warmer weather though

it definitly slowed everyone down a bit. it's a fun track, but it's also a moderatly fast track in my opinion. all it takes is seat time. not that i have any room to talk, but i've spent a lot of time on that track in particular (being that it's only about 45 min. from my house). i hope they got some good pics this time. i wasn't real impressed with the pics the last track dayi went to out there.

I was at TWS on the 24th. Try pouring rain, windy, and 40 degrees - not fun. Did meet some good folks those as always.

CMP is a strange place. We ride it alot becaue it's close to home (I'm in Columbia also). We ride in the middle group and slowed down some the last time and finally found a grove. First time I've actually enjoyed CMP.

Cool, I like the new ZX6R's, good looking bike in your avatar. I was on the yellow and blue Honda,in the A group. # 430 yellow plates, and yep those are my yellow plates, LOL. If I go any slower they may make me start running pink plates.
The reason I asked if that were you on the GSXR 1000, it was also a brand new bike, still in street plastic with taped up headlights. He's brave.

No, I'm from Dallas N.C. That guy you was talking about is Marc Camp. He lives in Gastonia, and he was with me. He and I rode together alot, the best time he could lay down was a 1:44 flat and the best I could lay down was a 1:44.50. We had a good time going back and forth. The other guys with me was # 87 GSXR 1000 Jeff Pitzer(control rider for NESBA), # 19 GSXR 750 Harry Deaver, # 67 ZX10 larry Bernasconi. Jeff got the bragging rights for the day with a 1:43 something. We were pitted at the back with the big white NESBA trailer.
P.S. Don't tell Marc he's quick, it goes staight to his head!!:D

oh yeah, i saw your pit area. i just couldn't get my confidence up with no warmers and it being so cold. i don't know what kind of times i was running, but i'm sure it wasn't as fast as you guys, maybe if i had to guess, probably 1.50 or a little better. that is the track that i've had the most time on, so hopefully next time i can break into those kind of times with the new bike, maybe. i'll keep you guys in mind when i go next time, i'll be sure to drop in and say hello!

Yeah man, I know what you mean about no warmers. Glad you were still able to shake the bike down though and get a feel of it. And most definately, come by and hang out with us, the more the merrier. We're a bunch of goof balls though, just talking crap to each other in the pits, and having alot of fun. Don't worry about the lap times, they'll drop when you get some more seat time on that new bike, especially when its not freezing a$$ cold :D . You'll probably be passing us sooner than you think. Good luck next season, and I hope to see ya at the track!
Sincerely,
Lee Huckabee
